I'm writing an extra credit paper for my math class. I chose to talk about Benford's Law. The paper is only 3 pages long, and not very interesting, but you can find it here.
While doing some searching to find out more, I came across Benford's Law of Controversy, which is that "Passion is inversely proportional to the amount of real information available." And then we have Godwin's Law, which is that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one." And then of course we have Hofstadter's Law, that "It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's law."
Very interesting paper and quite well-written. I know this is a tool IRS uses to detect fraud.
